Biography of the Founder
Fr. Henry Nmor was born on September 25, 1963, in Obinomba (Umukwata), in the Ukwani Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria — the first of ten children born to Johnson and Alice Nmor. He attended Abadina Primary School in Ibadan and Obiaruku Grammar School in Delta State before joining the Dominicans (Order of Preachers) in 1988.
He trained at the Catholic Major Seminary of Saints Peter and Paul in Ibadan, the University of Ibadan, and Urbaniana University in Rome, and was ordained a priest on December 7, 1996.
As a Dominican, Fr. Henry served in various parishes and chaplaincies, working closely with youth and the poor. The turning point came while he was associate pastor at St. Paul's Parish, Oyigbo, during a hospital visitation apostolate. In one of the more remote hospitals, he met a gravely ill, abandoned widow with two young sons. She had been discharged — her bill even cancelled out of compassion — but had nowhere to go, and the hospital asked if he could help, or she would be turned out.
Reluctant at first, Fr. Henry felt compelled by Christ's words in Matthew 25: "whatever you did for one of the least of these…" and arranged shelter and care for the family himself. That encounter led him, on July 9, 2008, to found the Missionaries of Holy Trinity of the Poor, initially with four women who shared his vision of serving indigent widows, orphans, the sick, the aged, and the neglected.
What he described as beginning "like a mustard seed" has since grown into the international institute presented in this dossier.

Our Emblem
Our emblem consists of a triangle — symbolizing the Most Holy Trinity — enclosing the world and a wooden cross at its center, with a rosary of five decades draped beneath the cross in the shape of a heart, symbolizing love.
Through this emblem, we glorify God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit, whose boundless love embraces the poor of every nation.
